I will Never use anything but the Air-Buoy, I have been SCUBA Diving all my life and this is much better, it gives me total freedom.
SCUBA Diving just doesn't give you the freedom you get with an Air-Buoy. Thanks Doug my life is complete now.

Can you move around easily in the Water with the Air-Buoy?

The Air-Buoy has no more drag than a regular SCUBA set-up. As long as you move at a regular pace and the seas are calm. You will notice a slight tugging on your back where the Air-Buoy hose is attached to your back if you are moving swiftly through the water.

What equipment will I wear?

A light harness to keep the air line out of the way, a weight belt, a mask and fins.

How deep can I go in the water?

You can go about 30 feet, because we limit the hose for safety reasons to 30 feet. Most diving is done at shallower levels and we have found that, this satisfy's the interest of the general population of divers. Using the Air-Buoy has the same physiological issues as SCUBA diving and great care must be taken when diving with compressed air.

Do I need to have SCUBA certification to use the Air-Buoy?

We encourage the user to have SCUBA or similar certification since diving underwater with compressed air is inherently dangerous and requires training.

How much time can I spend under water?

Approximately 90 minutes. However the time depends on your depth of diving . Under shallow conditions the Air -Buoy can last over 2 hours, with one charge.


How much does the Air-Buoy weigh?

The compressor box weighs about 30 lbs. This can be carried in your hand like a lunch box or on your back in the Air Buoy float bag. The Air-Buoy float bag weighs about 10 lbs. and can be carried on your back for transferring it, along with the air hose, the regulator and your other dive gear.

How many people can use the Air-Buoy?

One or two persons can use the Air-Buoy. Two people can use it at a depth of about 15 - 20 feet, for compfortable air pressure. One person can use it down to 30 feet for a comfortable dive. Also you can share it with others by just taking off the harness belt and handing it over to the next person. It is not uncommon for 2 or 3 people to use it during one outing since the Air-Buoy can last over 2 hours under casual conditions.

How do you recharge the Air-Buoy and how long does it take?

The Air-Buoy comes with a wall mount power supply that plugs into any 110 volt power source. It takes about 2.5 hours to recharge it. The Lithium Polymer Battery is designed for over 2,000 charges.

How physically fit do I have to be?

You should be in decent physical fitness. Diving underwater is inherently a dangerous adventure and you must be ready for all types of experiences.
